The relationship between art and design? It is difficult to say, as you'd ask what is the relationship between pants and mozzarella. Of course everything has a relation to each other and it is closer in all kinds of art. It is more a question of differences between art and design. The biggest difference is that very good design is trying to make things simpler, while very good artists are trying to make things more complicated. I think design has nothing to do with globalism or localism; it is something that at its best can be very particular, it can be about something we all have in common, or it can be particular about something very individual: it can be very global and very local and sometimes even at the same time.
