I think art and design should work separately. As an artist I would never talk of my work as production, which to me means in series. Design gives an object a function and an artistic side, but in series. The artist creates - though not in any omnipotent way - and works on an object, but doesn't design an object. The function of art lies in enjoyment of the art. When art becomes design and vice versa it gives rise to a hybrid, which I reject.
